Registering Players on FA's Club Portal

Player and team registrations are submitted on the FA's system, Club Portal, by Club/Team Officials.
There are several help guides on the
FA's support system here on how to use the new system. Information on mandatory NEHYL requirements are below.

Register Your Players

Mandatory NEHYL Requirements

All players whether new or renewing must have:


  • Player's full name and date of birth.
  • Full postal address inc postcode.
  • Recent, clear passport style photo uploaded
  • ID check - the club must confirm they have seen proof of data of birth such as passport or birth certificate. If they were a player with NEHYL the previous season then 'previous season's league ID card' can be ticked (must have been a renewing player with NEHYL and no other league/club).
  • Parent linked  for all under 16 year olds - associate a parent by specifying the parent's name, email and date of birth - if the individual exists, the system will return the record to link to the player. If they don't exist an FA Number (FAN) will be created and linked to the player. Alternatively, see the latest update from The FA on sending  email links to parents to confirm and attach player records.
  • Player's email for 17/18 year old players.
  • Nationality  and  country of birth.
  • Is English qualified player  (see International Clearance information which is required for all players over the age of 10).
  • Consent - parent consent through Club Portal or offline required.
  • Assigned to a team registered with NEHYL.
  • Submitted to the league for approval.

Mid Season Registrations

If you are registering players mid-season send a mail to your Divisional Secretary to inform them (The FA's system does not send notifications) so they can approve as soon as possible. At least 10 days is required before playing a match as Div Secs approve on different days to fit in to their individual schedules. You will need to check back on the system or follow up with the Div Sec to see if approved as you will not be notified by Club Portal when approved.

Cancelling Player Registrations

For Teams in the Competitive age groups, and Squads in the Development age groups


The Divisional Secretary will not cancel a player registration for a player who has already played for your team or squad this season, including appearing a substitute. Should a player wish to join another NEHYL team then the Player Transfer Process should be followed.

 

The League will not cancel player registrations after 1st November in the current season, unless there are exceptional circumstances.


Note: Players can be dual registered for different leagues (but match time limits apply so a player cannot play in two different leagues on the same day).


Renewing Players

Teams and players roll-over from the previous season.

Your Club's player/league registration secretary or manager will need to renew the photo, update the players address and obtain consent from the parent. They can then be submitted to the league from July for approval. Any players no longer playing with a team or Club must be detached before the season starts.
