New Grassroots Code from The FA

4 September 2024

Introducing the new Standards of Behaviour

Good news for all our clubs. The Grassroots Code is here to bring improved behaviour across the grassroots game.

Created following conversations with grassroots clubs across England, The Grassroots Code shares Standards of Behaviour we can all get behind, and hope to see across the NEHYL’s games.

  • Enjoy The Game We’re here to enjoy ourselves…win, lose or draw.
  • Give Respect We always treat others as we’d like to be treated.
  • Be Inclusive We embrace our differences…football is a game for everyone.
  • Work Together We’re a team, on and off the pitch.
  • Play Safe We all have a role in safeguarding children.

What next?

You can read more about the Standards of Behaviour in The Grassroots Code. These apply to all players and adults in youth football.

Please share with your club officials and members and let's enjoy football without the behaviour issues.
